WaterWatch2950

Organic Pollution and UV Transmissivity Monitoring System

The use of the absorption of ultraviolet light by organic material in water is a well established principle for monitoring organic load in many water and wastewater treatment processes. Careful consideration of the likely pollutants is required to ensure that the use of a ultraviolet wavelengths is the most appropriate for the application, we are more than happy to help with this assessment.

The WaterWatch2950 uses a high quality strobed light source combined with an integrated Turbidity interference removal algorithm. The light source is stable with a long life providing stable measurements with the minimum of user intervention. Careful design of the flow through sensor chamber reduces the likelihood of fouling and the sensor is equipped with an automatic self cleaning system to keep the optical path clear.

The output signal from the system can be used as surrogate measurement of COD, however a full understanding the the sample matrix is necessary to validate the measurement. Partech are happy to work with you to gain a full understanding of the process to be monitored.

Alternatively the system can be configured as a transmissivity monitor; in this configuration the output can be used to modulate the power output of UV treatment systems or to provide an alarm indicating that the UV treatment may not be as effective as desired.
