The treated effluent from the treatment process has to leave the site and it is at this point that the regulatory agencies start getting involved. Having reliable instrumentation at this point is the last chance to prevent a pollution incident before it happens.
Measurements at this point also provide excellent early warning of problems, for example a rising trend in turbidity indicates that the settlement process is not performing correctly. On some site measurements at the discharge point a dosing trim signal can be provided that is ideal for reducing overdosing costs.
