We would like to introduce Allan, who joins Partech as a Design Engineer! Allan’s role involves working as part of the Design team on mechanical aspects, making sure components and assemblies go together correctly using Solidworks, before the parts are physically made.
His work history spans back over 25 years. He started out as an Apprentice Technician Engineer for a company who made steam turbines for power stations and nuclear submarines. On completion of his apprenticeship, he went on to become a Designer with a sister company, working on large induction motors used for compressor drives and ship propulsion. Following on from this, he was employed as a Design Modeler for Rolls-Royce on gas turbines, before moving to Cornwall to work as a Design Engineer designing components and layouts for working boats and yachts.
In his spare time Allan enjoys cycling, especially exploring the local trails, woods and coastlines. He competes in occasional cross-country mountain bike and cyclo-cross races (when time and fitness allows!) When he is not riding his bike, he is out walking his two dogs or is busy with home improvements.
Allan is no stranger to Partech, he worked for us previously before we moved to our purpose-built factory in 2014 to accommodate for the growth of the company. He is looking forward to working with the Design Team to further advance our range of evolved products.
We are pleased to welcome Allan on board the Partech team!
