This month we wanted to introduce you to Bryan, our new Partech Purchasing and Planning Controller.
Hi Bryan, you’re new to the Partech team; tell us a little about yourself?
Well, I’m a keen and hardworking person who’ll always go the extra mile—I like to grab life and live it to the full so I do lots of activities in my spare time too.
What will your new Purchasing and Planning Controller role involve?
I’ll be carrying out all the product purchases for the company and also plan work for the assembly team. This takes a lot of thought to ensure products are ready and waiting on the shelf to satisfy orders when they come in.
What’s your work history?
I’ve worked in the CEM business for a local electronics company for several years and before that I had a career in heavy engineering. I was a skilled machinist working on large CNC machines while being employed by the local China clay industry.
What attracted you to the water industry?
The water industry was appealing to me because it’s such a diverse area of work. Keeping all types of water clean is very important to the environment, especially if you use water for recreational enjoyment like surfing or sea swimming.
What do you look forward to most about working for Partech?
Partech’s very much a forward thinking company and has many good ideas for the future—their new premises is in a good location too!
Where would we find you in your spare time?
In my spare time I’ll likely be undertaking an activity. I enjoy walking and so take holidays in the Lake District and Scotland—this year I climbed Ben Nevis!
Recently I competed in a night mountain bike race around some local forest areas with 130 other people. I managed to come 8th in the two-lap race and achieved 2nd place in my age category—not bad for a night’s work!
My wife and I enjoy kayaking around the Cornish rivers and coastline. We also take part in our family’s old tradition of a Boxing Day swim!
